Its medicinal effects
It has many medicinal properties. It is one of the best blood-purifying plants , dissolves metabolic waste products, and removes toxins from the body. It stimulates the kidneys to excrete more water, reduces blood uric acid levels , and is therefore effective in the treatment of gout, arthritis, and rheumatic diseases . The old method of rubbing the painful limbs with fresh nettle shoots is still used today. It is also used to reduce fever, anemia , and rashes.
Those prone to kidney and bladder stone formation should drink nettle tea regularly, as it helps to eliminate sand in time. Its cleansing and astringent effects can also be used in cases of gastritis and enteritis. Its tea has a stimulating effect and contains many vitamins and minerals (e.g. iron).
Tea made from its root prevents abnormal growth of the prostate , increases urine output, halves the urge to urinate, and speeds up urine flow. It also has the property of lowering blood sugar levels . It increases the body's resistance. It is also effective in allergic diseases.
Preparation
Boil one heaped tablespoon (3 g) of tea leaves with 2.5 dl of water, strain after 15 minutes. Do not use a metal strainer.
