Its medicinal effects
It is primarily known for its nerve-strengthening and calming effects. It is used for sleep disorders , incipient depression, nerve calming, and nervous heart complaints. It stimulates liver function, improves digestion, and reduces bloating . It also has a diaphoretic effect. It regulates the function of the thyroid gland and reduces nervousness due to overactivity. It is also suitable for reducing nervous tension before menstruation.
The polyphenols in it have antiviral properties, help heal cold sores, and halve the frequency of recurrence of the viral infection.
Preparation
Boil one heaped tablespoon (3 g) of tea leaves with 2.5 dl of water, strain after 15 minutes. Do not use a metal strainer.
